The trainer of FC Barcelona in 2003 was Frank Rijkaard. He was appointed manager on June 30, 2003, following a disappointing season for the club under the previous manager, Louis van Gaal.

Rijkaard's arrival marked a new era for Barcelona. He brought in a number of new players, including the Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho, and implemented a more attacking style of play. This led to an immediate improvement in the team's performances, and Barcelona finished second in La Liga in Rijkaard's first season.

In the following seasons, Rijkaard continued to build on his success, and Barcelona won the La Liga title in 2005 and 2006. He also led the team to victory in the UEFA Champions League in 2006, their first European Cup triumph since 1992.

Rijkaard left Barcelona in 2008, after six successful seasons in charge. He is considered one of the club's most important managers, and his legacy continues to influence the team to this day.
